Rev. Gayl Mills, Principal Chaplain, Australian Federal Police

Rev. Gayl Mills is an Anglican priest and is the Principal Chaplain for the Australian Federal Police. Gayl has a theology degree from Charles Sturt University and a Graduate Diploma in Pastoral Counselling.

Gayl has been a chaplain for 16 years with the AFP and has spent much of her ministry loitering with intent with ACT Policing, responding to critical incidents attended by community police, follow-up debriefs, and counselling members.

Through her work Gayl has developed a strong interest in Moral Injury and the impact it has on first responders.

Gayl originally trained as a Medical Scientist at RMIT.

Gayl and her husband Greg have lived in Canberra for 41 years. They have 4 adult daughters and 8 beautiful grandchildren.
